The new nursery year starts with the accommodation of the new “Söckchen” (little socks). The time of familiarising the new children usually lasts until some time in September
Autumn
Visiting the historical „Freimarkt” at the Roland is usually the first trip with the newly jointed group. The new temporary worker (voluntary social year) is now also incorporated. There is room for a short project which can influence the crafting of the lanterns. The parents get to know each other better at the lantern feast. Some of them might meet there for the first time…
At the end of November, the children bake cookies for their grandparents (or flatmates or aunts and uncles…) which are invited to a cosy get-together. The „Socke at home“ days start now where the group is visiting one of the children and spending one day at the home of that child (one visit per month).
Winter
In December there is a Christmas workshop, in the course of which the children handcraft small presents for their parents. We are baking and tasting our baked goods…
The year ends with a Julklapp Christmas Party for all socks. The new year gives the opportunity for a long term project which can include the topic carnival.
Spring
In April there is a sleep-over and in May the children are going on a trip into the forest together (forest days). One night they are sleeping there without their parents and the seconf night the parents are joining them.
Summer
The farewell of the ”big” socks is coming closer since they will be transferring into kindergarden. There are visits to the different kindergardens and future little socks are coming to the ”Socke” to get to know the location, their fellow socks and the team. A farewell trip shortly before the summer closing time concludes the nursery year.
By the way:
All throughout the year we are going outside as often as possible. Once a week we are going tot he BTS Neustadt gym where the children can move freely and try out a parcours.
There is always an opportunity to break out into song with the children since there are so many reasons to sing, after all everybody feels realllllly good at the “Socke”.
